Primary Entryway Makeover: Intentional Lighting
We recently took on a weekend project at home to give our Primary Entryway the refresh it deserved. A few intentional updates gave the space the cozy and inviting look I was going for, yet it’s still giving all the “Main (entryway) Character” energy. We achieved the Primary Entryway statement with an intentional lighting selection and accompanying medallion. Goodbye contractor-grade boob lighting and hello lighting with personality. The ceilings are 8 feet in our entryway so we didn’t have room for a big drop down chandelier moment, but a beautiful moment was still to be had. I selected an ornate ceiling medallion and layered a three-globe, semi-flush, Sputnik style fixture underneath it. The drop is just past the 10 inch mark, leaving more than enough clearance beneath. The combination of the medallion with this fixture really gives the space the statement it needed and I could not be happier with the outcome. The before and afters say it all! Scroll to the bottom for a round-up of semi-flush lighting fixtures that lend nicely to many spaces throughout the home, but would look great in an entryway with a similar construct to ours.
